June
8-11, 2001 -
Jeanie,
Judy and I were on hand again for the annual Big
"Mac" Scenic Shoreline Spring Bike Tour
in Mackinaw City. Kathy joined us for the first
time.

The
jet boat kicked up quite a roostertail. |

Dandy
climbed up into the seat as the steel deck began to
vibrate. |
The
Grand Hotel is an impressive site as you approach the
Island. |

The
lilacs were in full bloom. |
|
|
|
We
cycled around the Island, stopping for a few pictures.
Kathy points out Arch Rock (in case you didn't
see it in this picture). |
Kathy,
Judy and Jeanie pose in front of the Devil's Kitchen,
formed by wave erosion centuries ago. |
Lunch,
as usual, was at La Chance Cottage. Dan mooched
a few pieces of Judy's chicken dinner. |
|
|
|
The lilacs
on the fort grounds were spectacular. |
An Island
marina with a Great Lakes freighter in the background. |
Judy and Dan
decided to stay for a couple more days and moved their
equipment to a site at the edge of the water. |
|
|
That's the end of this
year's tour pictures. |
