There weren't too many campers in the Park, so we
had plenty of room to ourselves
September 12 -15, 2008: Friends, Jeanie and Kathy, and I didn't get to the annual bike tour in Mackinaw City this June, so we decided to meet at Ohio's Harrison Lake State Park for an end-of-summer get together. This was a new campground for us and we'll probably go back again. It rained quite a bit, thanks to Hurricane Ike's trek through the Midwest, but we made the most of the periods when it stopped.

The water in the foreground leads to a spillway.
The lake, 3.5 miles in circumferance is beyond the trees

There were lots of Canada geese along the shore

Many stood on one leg, like flamingos

We saw several turkey buzzards overhead. At one point,
there was a flock of 50 or more circling

I couldn't get anyone to go down the tube slide, but
Kathy tried out the swings

The Park offers one camping cabin, complete with
microwave, fridge and outdoor gas grill...

... and there are 2 yurts which sleep 4. The rental
comes with a covered gas grill
