We took a trip into
Traverse City, walked along the bay
and saw some of the local sites. |
June 19-22, 2009: Jeanie,
Kathy and I got together for our annual camping
trip. Although we have taken part in the Mackinaw
City bike tour most years, we decided, for the
second year in a row, to just try a campground
that was new to us. This year it was Timber Ridge
Campground in Traverse City, MI. |

Back at the
campground, the obligatory photo of our
two campsites had to be taken. |
Each evening, games of
dodgeball took place. Just about
every age group had a chance to try their skill. |
Above the center line
of the dodgeball pit were flashing,
colored lights and a rotating mirror ball. When we
initially
saw it on our arrival, we thought that they held dances
in the sand. |

On Sunday, we decided
to visit Sleeping Bear Dunes
National Lakeshore. Jeanie and Kathy had been there
before, but it was totally new to me. |
Kathy and I decided to
make our way to the water. At the
top of the first dune, we looked back to see Glen lake. |
Another shot from the
third dune. |
