Silver Lake campground is very popular.
We had our reservations in months in advance.

Our campsite: a screen room, popup with
attached screen room and a tent

(From my iPhone) - Although this looks like a regular
fifth wheel in front of another RV, it is actually a
single RV (with a pop out open at the back end).
Note that there are 3 axles on the RV.

The dunes were across from the campground.

While baking salmon in a Coleman oven on top
of a Coleman stove, a fire was followed by a large
explosion. I didn't realize that a butane lighter was
stuck to the inside of the stove. The fire was from
burning plastic, the explosion from the butane tank.
This happened in the popup's screen room.
Fortunately, nothing else caught fire.

We sat at lakeside every night to see the sun go down.

And, we also saw the moon shortly afterward.

On a day trip, we first stopped at a beach on
Lake Michigan.

We then stopped to see the tallest
lighthouse on the  eastern
shore of Lake Michigan. It is
108 feet tall.

The original brick was painted white
to make it visible to ships when the
point was covered with trees.

On past trips, I have climbed to the top of several
lighthouses. Unfortunately, I had a problem with my
permanent vertigo on the previous day, so Kathy
(who is afraid of heights) agreed to go to the top
and take some photos.

My car is the first one on the left in the far row.

Kathy looks cool and calm in this photo, but she
is hanging on to the railing for dear life and faking
a smile for the camera.

She was rewarded with this when she descended.

The architecture is reminiscent of a church.

Our last evening watching the sun set.
That's it for this trip.  Stop by again.
