The banners from last year's groundbreaking/Mass in the Grass/picnic were in place.
Mari took time out from directing to play the harp.
Once Mass ended, it didn't take long for the food lines to form.
The congregation, with lawn chairs and blankets, formed a circle.
The entire congregation gave the final blessing...to each other and to the world outside of the circle.

Annual "Mass in the Grass" and parish picnic
Our pastor, Fr. Joe Dailey, was the celebrant.
Children who attended the summer catechetical program knew the two closing African songs, so they joined Mari in leading the congregation.
