Before long, it was time to eat, a favorite pastime.	Cousin Dr. Bob (MD and PhD from Amherst, New York) introduces son John to his first cousin Katey and her dad.	August, 2000 - Family Reunion - Our family reunion was held on August 26th in southern Iowa. I arrived a few days early and stayed for a few days after everyone else left.
Second cousins, John and John, get acquainted.	A group of us walked two blocks to the town square to check out the Restoration Days1 activities.	Art exhibits are set up on the lawn around the courthouse.
Susan and Tyler examine some local painters' works...	...while Dick checks out some pottery.	Civil war monument at the front of the courthouse.
The Restoration Days parade begins.	The high school band members were comfortable in the 90+ heat, wearing cutoffs instead of their heavy uniforms...	...unlike this family who appeared in Victorian costumes.
There were classic and not-so-classic cars, trucks and tractors.	The Shriners were on hand with motor cycles, mechanical horses and a fleet of red Isettas.	Aunt Peggy, Uncle Steve and Christy (all from California) with Susan, Tyler and Dick.

¹ Several years ago, the residents decided to renovate the courthouse and buildings around the square. It's been a continuing process that is celebrated every year on the last weekend of August.
