August, 2000 - Family Reunion - Our family reunion was held on August 26th in southern Iowa. I arrived a few days early and stayed for a few days after everyone else left.

Aunt Ann (87) and John (6 months), the oldest and youngest attending this year's reunion.

Just to prove that this really is my family reunion, here I am with Amy and Katey.

Sunday afternoon, we went to the quilt show.

Katey loved the bears on this one.

Final bids for the silent auction are submitted.

It's time for some of the relatives to say "Goodbye" and head for the airport.

Just a few people are left to help with the final cleanup.

Annie and I decided to explore the area around our camp site.

We found a trail leading down to the lake.

It was getting dark and the deer were coming out to graze.

Two bucks and a doe couldn't have cared less about us.

Annie examines an indian mound in the park.

Aunt Ann spent the last day at the camp site with me. We passed this snow white pampas grass as we did some sight seeing.

A part of the Rathbun dam can be seen in the background.

The day before I left, smoke from the fires in Montana started to descend on Iowa as you can see from this shot of Keith and Linda's house.

This was our sixth family reunion in thirteen years and the first real chance for us first cousins to spend time visiting with one another, since many of the next generation who are married or in school were unable to attend.
